Full Job Description

The basic function of the service and inspections helper will be to work with and learn from senior service technicians and senior inspectors how to properly inspect, service, and maintain life safety systems & equipment. Our ideal candidate will have a strong want to learn and improve, be customer and safety-oriented, and be able to work diligently as a part of the Anderson Fire Protection team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Location: 5710 Furnace Avenue, Elkridge, MD 21075

Responsibilities

  • Assist inspectors and fitters on installs, service, and inspection projects. Travel to properties as required by the specific assignment.
  • Interact with customers and co-workers daily.
  • Follow safety rules and requirements.
  • Others duties may be required but are not outlined. Will vary as your industry knowledge grows!

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 0 – 1 year of industry experience.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with computer operation
  • Excellent administrative, organizational skills, and computer software knowledge.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating circumstances and provide excellent customer service.
  • Effective verbal & written communication.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, which includes carrying/moving equipment, as well as tools that weigh up to 70 pounds.
  • Capable of working in strange and sometimes challenging situations such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment, working in attic spaces with duct, crawl spaces and above ceilings.
  • Read and understand blue prints, diagrams, specifications, and NFPA codes used in specific activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours
